Studio Ivria

Miriam Orbach is the artist behind Studio Ivria, a handmade jewelry brand rooted in the desert landscapes of Israel. From her studio located between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, Miriam crafts contemporary pieces that echo the strength, beauty, and mystery of the Hebrew women who walked this land centuries ago. The name Ivria—meaning "Hebrew woman"—captures the essence of her work: powerful, poetic, contemporary yet deeply connected to the past.

More About Studio Ivria

Miriam's journey into jewelry design is deeply rooted in her fascination with the resilience and grace of ancient women who once traversed the desert landscapes of Israel. Drawing inspiration from their stories, Miriam crafts each piece by hand, infusing modern aesthetics with echoes of the past.

Philosophy & Inspiration

Miriam's designs are a homage to the enduring spirit of desert women—figures of strength, beauty, and wisdom. The raw desert landscape, with its shifting tones and stark beauty, also plays a vital role in shaping the textures, forms, and movement within her designs. Her jewelry reflects a blend of rugged natural textures and refined elegance. Each creation is not just an accessory but a narrative, inviting the wearer to connect with a lineage of powerful femininity.

Every piece from Studio Ivria is meticulously handcrafted, ensuring uniqueness and quality. Miriam employs traditional techniques, working with materials that resonate with the earth's palette—metals, stones, and textures that tell a story of time and place.

In Meriam's Own Words

"Shalom! My name is Miriam Orbach. I am a wife, mother of six, silversmith, jeweler, poet, and the owner behind "Studio Ivria". From my studio in the Yehuda desert, I breathe, create, and produce thoughts, ideas, and spaces of movement within the metal material.

“Ivria”- means a Hebrew woman. My creations are inspired by the Hebrew women who walked here all through the ages. They too, just like us today – breathed, pained, loved, envied and yearned.

My jewelry offer a contemporary interpretation of those ancient women and the desert that influenced their lives. The jewelry, all produced by me, by my handwork using traditional silversmith’s technics.

Each piece's movement, texture, and dimension is unique. Elements of my jewelry include clean lines, matte finishes on raw materials, orderly gaps and rhythms, structure, depth, signs of life and wear. No piece looks the same as another, just as each woman is wholly unique.

It is my passion to honor these ancient biblical women and the desert landscape in which they lived in, while creating meaningful, unique pieces for us nowadays.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you find something that speaks to your heart.
-miriam."
